Discover Nature:
The Only Good Snake is a .
.. Live Snake!

There is little reason to fear snakes – they are not dangerous unless you threaten them,    and without them our yards would be over-run with rodents.  Find out more about our native snakes on Thursday May 20th when Southern Conservation Trust presents a Nature Discovery program at 7pm at the Flat Creek Nature Center in Peachtree City.

Jim Rodgers of the Green Plant Market in Senoia will bring over a dozen venomous and non-venomous snakes and share his wealth of knowledge – did you know more people die every year from dog bites than snake bites?   Children will love the chance to see snakes up close, and adults’ disgust will turn to appreciation for these colorful reptiles and the important work they do in keeping pest populations down.

The Native Snakes program is one in a series of Nature Discovery programs presented by Southern Conservation Trust on topics relating to our local natural environment and ways to protect it.  Southern Conservation Trust is a nonprofit land trust based in Peachtree City that owns and manages over 600 acres of nature preserves in Fayette County.

This fun and informative program is free, open to the public and suitable for all ages.  The Flat Creek Nature Center is adjacent to the Frederick Brown amphitheatre at 201McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City.
